About Me
I’m Guinevere Grimley, a BACP registered Psychotherapist, dedicated to helping people navigate the intricate pathways of their lives.
My journey into this work began long before my professional training; it was shaped by years of curiosity about human behaviour and the connections that bind us.

My academic path took me to Keele University, where I graduated with Distinction for my MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This milestone was preceded by a BSc in Psychology from Buckingham University and a Diploma in Counselling from the South African College of Applied Psychology. Each step deepened my understanding of the human experience and equipped me with the tools to support others.

As a dual British and South African citizen, my life has been enriched by two distinct yet equally vibrant cultures. I have spent years moving between these worlds, learning what it feels like to belong and yet sometimes stand apart. These experiences taught me invaluable lessons in empathy, compassion, and forgiveness, which are central to my work as a therapist.

Beyond my professional life, I maintain a keen interest in what makes us human and what drives our behaviours and beliefs. I’m fascinated by holistic wellbeing, culture, philosophy, and politics. I’m also an avid reader, drawn to both fantasy and non-fiction literature. Some of my favourites include Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, Irvin Yalom, and Yuval Noah Harari. Their works continue to inspire my curiosity and shape my perspective on life and therapy.

I also thrive on movement and adventure. Whether I’m scaling a rock face or losing myself in the rhythm of salsa dancing, I find that physical challenges and joyful expression teach us resilience, patience, and the value of being present. These activities remind me of the courage it takes to step out of our comfort zones - a theme I often explore with clients.
On a more personal level, I love long country walks, spending time with friends and family (including my kitten, Rosie), and experimenting in the kitchen.
