Loss of Independence?

I wanted to include this section because I've seen first-hand the need to process some life-changes. Before I became a therapist, and during my training, I worked as personal care assistant to people with life-changing disabilities. Some of these people have been born disabled but others had acquired their conditions and I witnessed first hand the incredible emotional strain such a loss can provoke. Despite my best efforts as a carer I recognised that the significance of the loss couldn't always be mitigated by compassionate care, rather some of those issues of loss needed to be unpacked with a professional. Now I am honoured to be that professional and offer that support.
